About The Artist

Pati Dubiel was born and raised in Krosno, the heart of Polish Glass Industry. Two years before she completed the study, Pati already started to receive national rewards and acclaims. (1995 Polygram Poland & 1996 Cartoonist Contest).
A similar story continued during the Worclaw Art Academy. Before the graduation year in 2003, Pati won 3 prizes for brand advertisement, collabo-rating with ‘Rexona‘ & ‘Pizza Hut‘.

In 2003, Pati received a scholarship from the ‘Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Warsaw’, followed by the ‘Glass Young‘ Award.

Between 2000 and 2010, Pati Dubiel participated in over 35 exhibitions and won 19 official awards. By 2010, she was well established as a brilliant glass artist with connections that spread across Europe. Including the Netherlands.
The value of networking became more and more visible 2020, when Pati became co-owner and artistic manager of the ‘
Versus Art Gallery‘, Wroclaw.

OVER HET GLAS …

Patrycja has always been interested in drawing, color, and form. She has developed her own technique for "enclosing" an image, a kind of story in glass. Using a whole range of available glass processing options, Dubiel has created her own highly individual and recognizable style, which cannot be confused with any other. In her work, the artist is guided by intuition as she attempts to express her world. The rich narrative that characterizes Pati Dubiel's drawings and sculptures is accompanied by great attention to detail.

The artist does not eschew the use of equipment such as airbrush, screen printing or water jet in her work, but nevertheless believes that true art should "contain" as much as possible of the artist himself, his sensitivity, spirit and creative actions. Dubiel's works are inspired by what surrounds her - both nature and man himself with his whole range of emotions and feelings. The creation of Pati Dubiel's glass sculptures is, as she herself says, like building a house - she begins with the foundations, the base, the broad outlines of the work and ends by fine-tuning the details of the composition. The details and finishing touches complete and add to the whole.

Using a variety of techniques, she achieves the desired effect - showing the beauty and possibilities of glass and incorporating in it the story she wants to convey to the viewer. For Pati Dubiel, on the other hand, drawing is a form of philosophy of life; you can see in her drawings the artist's ability to capture details, build compositions and present realities processed and transformed by her imagination. Not infrequently, these drawings inspire the creation of unique glass forms.
