Exotic Ceramic Sculptor
Jacek Opala was born in 1970 in Bolesławiec, Lower Silezië voivodschap and he is engineer by profession. He discovered his passion for sculpture by making his first ceramic shapes with the support of the Błotny brothers in their workshop in Parowa. After some time he set up his own workshop and started baking his artworks in an electric oven.
The creative process consists of sculpting a model in clay and turning it into a shape. Based on this form, she makes a series of works with different elements of her stories and different ways of decorating. Every work is different. Each is a new challenge and contains elements of technological experimentation.
Fascinated by classical art, from ancient Pompeii, through Michelangelo to Igor Mitoraj, he tries to make his works contain a perfect harmony of form, aesthetics, vibrancy and color. By adding elements of architecture, eroticism and painting, he tries to capture and hold emotions. Because he himself longs for clear art, he wants his images to tell stories in his own way. He is happy when those who watch them recognize an allusion in it and make their own further story. He wants his works to be clearly thought-provoking and at the same time evoke emotions. When asked about his sources of inspiration, he replies that it is life, nature, history, people, everything, in a word.
On 17 May at 19:00, we invite you to the opening of the exhibition with the artist himself. At this exhibition, you will be able to see his latest collection of ceramic sculptures.
